Privacy Policy

PerfumeLab is an independent perfume house operating from Kuwait. This policy explains, in plain language, what personal information this website collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. It covers this website only.

What we collect

When you place an order. Your name, email address, phone number and delivery address (governorate, area, block, street, building). We need these to prepare your order, deliver it and support it afterwards.

When you create an account. Your email address and the password you choose, which is stored encrypted and is never visible to us. Your username is generated from your email address.

When you use the contact form or leave your email after the quiz. Your name, your email address, the subject you pick, whatever you write in the message, and the IP address the form was sent from. The IP address is recorded to stop automated abuse of the form.

When you save something to your wishlist. A list of product numbers, nothing else. If you are signed in it is stored against your account. If you are not, it is stored in a cookie in your own browser.

Automatically. Our web server keeps standard access logs, which include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting.

What we never collect. We do not collect or store payment card details, because we do not take card payments. Orders are paid in cash on delivery.

Cookies

This site sets only cookies that are needed for it to work. It sets no advertising cookies, no tracking cookies and no analytics cookies.

  • pl_wishlist keeps your wishlist if you are not signed in. It holds product numbers only, and lasts one year.
  • pl_lang remembers whether you chose English or Arabic, so we do not keep redirecting you. It lasts one year.
  • WooCommerce cart and session cookies keep the contents of your basket while you shop. They clear when your session ends.
  • WordPress login cookies keep you signed in, and are only set if you have an account and sign in.

You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block them, the basket and the wishlist will stop working, because they have nowhere to store anything.

What we do not do

We think this is as important as the list above, so we state it plainly:

  • We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anybody, for any purpose.
  • We run no advertising pixels, no remarketing tags and no social media trackers.
  • We run no analytics product. We do not build a profile of you and we do not track you across other websites.
  • We load no fonts, scripts or images from third-party servers. Everything this site needs is served from our own domain, so browsing here does not disclose your IP address to anybody else.
  • We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you.

Why we use it

To take, prepare, deliver and support your order. To reply when you contact us. To send you the emails you asked us to send. To keep the site secure and working. To keep the business records we are required to keep.

Who else sees it

Our delivery courier receives the name, address and phone number needed to bring your order to you, and nothing more.

Our hosting provider stores this website and its database on our behalf.

Both act on our instructions. Nobody else receives your personal information unless the law requires us to disclose it.

Marketing email

We only email you marketing if you asked us to, by leaving your address with us. Every marketing email will have a way to stop receiving them, and you can also just reply and ask. Asking us to stop marketing does not affect emails about an order you have placed.

How long we keep it

  • Order records: kept for as long as we need them for accounting and for handling any dispute or return.
  • Contact messages: kept until they are dealt with and for a reasonable period after, then deleted on request.
  • Marketing subscriptions: kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
  • Your account: kept until you ask us to close it.
  • Wishlist cookie: one year, or until you clear your browser.

What you can ask us to do

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything that is wrong, ask us to delete it, or ask us to stop using it for marketing. Write to us and we will do it. We will not charge you for it and we aim to respond within 30 days.

Some information we may have to keep even after you ask us to delete it, where it forms part of a completed order record we need for accounting. If that applies, we will tell you which information and why.

Keeping it safe

Access to the store is limited to the people who run it, and it is protected by individual accounts and passwords. Passwords are stored encrypted. No website can promise perfect security, but if something happens to your personal information that puts you at risk, we will tell you.

Children

This site is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their information, tell us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date at the top. If the change is significant, we will say so on the site.
